2023 - 2024 TRYOUT OVERVIEW

Welcome to our travel team tryouts! We are proud to be one of the most expansive girls' programs in the state, with a broad offering of travel teams from highly competitive national bound to competitive development teams. The spectrum of options allows us to give girls at all levels of play the opportunity to advance to their desired next hockey level.

We are excited about the 2023 - 2024 season. With 13 teams at all age brackets (U8 - U19) in three leagues (NEGHL, CHC, and CGHL), we offer a spectrum of options for all types of players - from new to hockey to advanced.

Our explosive entry into national-bound competition with our Tier II program provides highly competitive play that challenges players and leads to advancement opportunities.

MULTIPLE TRYOUT OPTIONS

U14, 16, AND 19 NATIONAL BOUND TRYOUTS

As a newcomer to national bound play, we've become known for having the best Tier II program in the state. Our six-year record is unparalleled and includes numerous tournament titles, including back-to-back USA Hockey Championships (2017 & 2018), 30+ boarding school placements, and the best program leadership. We're proud to be the destination program for players looking to advance to their next level of play.  

TRYOUT APPROACH

Tryouts for our national bound and non-national bound teams are separate. National bound teams are focused on experienced players looking to play at the highest level of competition. Our national bound teams are comprised of players that have long-term hockey goals, including college hockey. The tryout options offered for the upcoming season include:

National Bound (Tier II) Tryouts:

National-bound teams include U14, 16, and 19 age groups and teams that are eligible for the USA Hockey National Championship. These teams are highly competitive, USA Hockey national-bound teams that require significant time and travel commitment.

U08 (cross-ice team)

Tryout Information

Our tryout program is designed to provide all participants with an equal opportunity to demonstrate their hockey skills. We utilize independent evaluators to eliminate any potential player bias. Additionally, our on-ice instructors will do everything possible to maintain a relaxed environment so players can perform to their potential.

Here is some additional information about tryouts: 

  • Tryout PacketRequest a comprehensive packet that provides families with tuition, travel, tournament, skill development, practice schedules, etc.
  • Registration: Our registration opens on February 1, 2023  
  • Player Loyalty: We promise our registered players that we will find a place for them to play hockey with our "Once a Shark, always a Shark" philosophy
